BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans want to 'skip to Halloween' as they express confusion over the next theme

Strictly Come Dancing fans were shocked to see Kym Marsh in the dreaded dance-off during Sunday night's results show but their surprise soon turned to confusion when talk turned to next weekend. Several scores of 10 were awarded by the BBC One show's judges during Saturday evening’s show as the celebrities impressed with their performances.

Fleur East, Hamza Yassin and Tyler West all received at least one 10 from the judging panel after wowing them with their routines. The first 10 of the evening was awarded to 34-year-old singer Fleur who found herself in the dance-off and at risk of elimination during last week’s results show.

Wildlife cameraman Hamza followed, topping East after he received three 10s for his salsa to Ecuador by Sash! featuring Rodriguez with professional partner Jowita Przystal. Following the performance, Revel Horwood said: "What has happened tonight darling? Everyone has taken a magic dance pill or something. Ah-maze-ing."

Head judge Shirley Ballas added: “You are daddy cool for me now. And I have one word for you, per-fect-o." The 32-year-old left the dancefloor with a staggering score of 39 – the highest of the series so far. And Kiss FM DJ West closed Saturday evening’s live show with the first couple’s choice routine of the 20th series alongside professional partner Dianne Buswell.

After receiving the first 10 of the series last week, Tyler once again impressed the judges with his garage megamix routine, with Anton Du Beke branding it "spectacular". The 26-year-old received an impressive score of 37 for his performance – including two 10s from Shirley and Anton.

But during Sunday night's results show it was Bros singer Matt Goss who became the third celebrity to be voted off Strictly after a number of particularly impressive performances by some of his fellow contestants. But there were also gasps in the ballroom after the third public vote of the series, as the 54-year-old found himself up against former soap star Kym Marsh in the dance-off.

Sunday’s results show also opened with a passionate and dramatic number from the professional dancers to Lana Del Rey’s Young And Beautiful, and also saw a performance from George Ezra singing his single Dance All Over Me. But as ever, the successful couples chatted to co-host Claudia Winkleman about getting through and what's to come next week.

And it was revealed that as part of the BBC's centenary celebrations, the remaining 12 couples will perform routines to iconic theme tunes from BBC shows. It was confirmed that Tony Adams and his partner Katya Jones will be performing a Charleston to the Grandstand theme tune while Ellie Taylor and Johannes Radebe will get their groove on to the Casualty title track. Helen Skelton will also be bringing a blast from her past as she and partner Gorka Marquez perform to the Blue Peter theme tune.

But Strictly viewers aren't sure about how it's going to go and are requesting the show skips a week to the Halloween special which is likely going to take place on Saturday, October 29. @AllAboutBriony tweeted: "Not sure I’m looking forward to this bbc special next week. It might surprise me but think I’d rather a good song to match the dance rather than a theme tune. Casualty?! #Strictly."

@inkyponk posted: "Glad I'll be missing next Saturday. Theme tune music is not really danceable.#Strictly." @sian_davies_xx shared: "I for one am not looking forward to this theme tune week next week! I just can’t see it working #Strictly." @Angel_Rc22 wrote: "BBC theme tunes? OML next week is going to be another "rumba to the Jurassic Park theme" cringefest isn't it, judging by the 2 themes they've already told us will be in the show. That said, I hope someone dances to the Doctor Who theme tune! #Strictly." @dinicofoxy added: "Can we just skip BBC theme week and just head straight to Halloween week please #Strictly."

But some are already getting into the spirit. @HausofDylan95 commented: "Obsessed with the fact Ellie is going to be dancing to the CASUALTY theme tune next week #Strictly." @RyanGSoapKing11 shared: "#Strictly. The Casualty theme Tune next week OMG!!!!!" @cathalhaughey02 posted: "This theme tune week better be the only time they will do this #Strictly."
