BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans think they've cracked real reason for Matt Goss' exit

On Sunday night's Strictly Come Dancing, there were tears as Matt Goss and Nadiya Bychkova were the latest dancing duo to be eliminated.

The Bros star ended up in the bottom two and had to take part in the dreaded dance off against former soap star Kym Marsh and her professional dance partner Graziano Di Prima.

The 54-year-old danced his jive to All Shook Up by Paul McCartney again after failing to impress the judging panel on Saturday evening (October 15) when he and Nadiya scored just 20 points. Meanwhile, Kym, 46, and Graziano impressed again with their second performance of their samba to Volare by Gipsy Kings.

After both couples had danced for a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts, with all four opting to save Kym and Graziano. Craig Revel Horwood commented: “I think both couples went up a major notch – I mean, Matt, you went fantastically mad in that, I loved it, and Kym, you were really great in that. But the couple I would like to save is Kym and Graziano.”

Meanwhile, head judge Shirley Ballas, who has previously disagreed with her fellow judges’ decisions, said: "I also felt that both couples were 100% committed, spot-on performances today. But the couple with a little bit more technical skill was Kym and Graziano and that’s who I’d save."

Speaking to host Tess Daly after the results, Matt, who shot to fame in the late 80s in the band Bros with massive hits including When Will I Be Famous and Drop The Boy and went on to have a residency in Las Vegas, said: "It’s an extraordinary experience, I have been in America for 25 years."

Thanking the judges and his partner he said: "Thank you judges for your candour, you’ve helped me in many ways. My posture – Anton, I am more aware of it. This lovely lady beside me, a world champion with all the patience. I am very honoured to have danced with you, and everyone who is still in, I love you guys, go smash it guys."

After Nadiya praised her dance partner and hit back at critics, Matt wiped away tears as he emotionally said: "I'm sorry I'm emotional, I'm an emotional person... I wish my mum was here and my sister was here. You really have... the British public have made me feel really welcome so thank you."

While fans were stunned to see former Coronation Street star Kym in the dance-off after she landed in the top end of the leaderboard with 32 points out of a possible 40 and flocked to social media to comment on the 'bonkers' outcome.

Others, however, think they spotted the reason for poor Matt's downfall. @J4D3Y_M1TCH tweeted: "Matt might have done a bit better if they hadn't dressed him in ill-fitting trousers every week #StrictlyComeDancing." @Karenlilley10 asked: "Is Matt losing his trousers? #Strictly.

It comes after Strictly viewers noted that week after week that Matt's trousers didn't appear to fit properly. @blhtrixya previously tweeted: "They really need to get matt goss some better fitting trousers…" @MillieSansoye also shared: "Can the costume department please sort out Matt’s trousers out #Strictly."
