Some Strictly Come Dancing fans were a little irked when Tess Daly pointed out Helen Skelton's unfortunate wardrobe blunder during the semi-final. The Countryfile host and her professional dance partner Gorka Marquez performed twice as the BBC One show returned to screens on Sunday night (December 11).
All five remaining couples - including Helen, Molly Rainford, Hamza Yassin, Fleur East and Will Mellor - had to do double the work this week as they fought for their place in next weekend's grand final of the dance competition.
Helen, 39, kicked off her semi-final with much praise for her “dreamy” waltz to Only One Road by Celine Dion. Motsi Mabuse said she thought the dance was "magic" while Anton Du Beke said it was "beautiful, soft and romantic" There was, however, some criticism and the pair finished with a lower score than they have been used to of 35.

Returning to the ballroom, Helen and Gorka, 32, later performed the Argentine tango to Here Comes The Rain Again by Eurythmics with partner Gorka Marquez. But a wardrobe malfunction occurred as her heel got caught in her stunning blue sequin dress.
Like a true pro, Helen and Gorka continued with their dance even with the unfortunate mishap. But while Strictly viewers didn't appear to notice, it was co-host Tess Daly who brought up as she praised her by saying: "Is your dress ok? I know it got caught a little bit in your heel."
Commenting on Tess pointing out the unfortunate mishap, @PaulSq1956 tweeted: "#Strictly why did Terrible Tess find it necessary to point out a costume issue before turning to the judges for Helen’s judge’s comments?" @spongebobmarc said: "So annoyed at Tess. The first thing she said was about Helen getting her heel caught. I didn't even notice." @jlongy_66 replied: "Me neither." And @monamorris9889 echoed: "Neither did I."
Despite the issue, the duo went on to score 37 from the judges, as they were awarded a nine from Craig, 10 from Motsi and an eight from Shirley, while Anton awarded them 10. After the dance, sweetly Gorka said of his partner: "For me, you are an incredible person, an inspirational person. Positive with a smile, I think you inspire a lot of people, starting from me, to the whole nation."
And he also had a simple two-word response when clips of their Argentine tango was posted to Strictly's official Instagram page with their initial reactions after heading backstage following the intense and sexy performance. Spanish dancer Gorka was quick to write in the comments: " So proud!!!" While Helen said: " To do this," alongside a love heart eyes emoji.
