After professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova's split with her fiancé was revealed, BBC Strictly Come Dancing star Dan Walker has given his response.
Nadiya has split from her famous football star boyfriend, Matija Skarabot, who lives in Europe.
And Dan, who was paired up with Nadiya for last year's series, has stepped in to "support her".
Sources say Nadiya called time on the relationship months ago, while she was performing on Strictly week to week with Dan, Birmingham Live reports.
Nadiya, who moved to Sheffield, in Yorkshire, to live near Dan during their rehearsals, has unfollowed her former partner.
The Mail Online reports a source as saying: “Dan and Nadiya have such a great bond and he has been a pillar of strength and support for her following the break up with Matija."
After their exit from the show, Nadiya addressed speculation after she was photographed crying in a taxi.
“They were happy tears because I’d had a great year," she revealed to the Sun newspaper.
"It’s always emotional because you put in so much of your time and energy but it’s all very positive. I made a great friend. It feels like we’ll stay friends for life.
“Dan is probably one of the kindest people on this planet. He is very caring and always looking after other people. He is selfless and a gentleman.”
