BBC Strictly Come Dancing bookies' favourite is Countryfile's Helen Skelton

Countryfile presenter Helen Skelton is the latest celebrity to join the line-up for Strictly Come Dancing, and is being tipped to win.

The BBC ballroom dancing show bosses have already been warned about her wild side by Martin Hughes-Games as she can say "naughty things". The Strictly cast has now been announced in full, as Helen will be trying to win the Glitterball trophy against Scots Loose Women star Kaye Adams, Coronation Street's Kim Marsh and X Factor's Fleur East.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Helen Skelton has got history with Strictly after a Christmas special stint in 2012, and punters are convinced that will stand her in good stead in the race for this year's Glitterball Trophy - forcing us to slash her odds as a result."

Helen has signed up for the show after her shocking split from her rugby player husband Richie Myler in April, months after their third child was born. Before it was officially announced who would be joining the show, a source told The Sun: “It’s the perfect way to bounce back.

"Most people are absolutely desperate to avoid the Strictly curse but Helen would love it to give her some confidence back. She’s a great signing for the show and enormously popular with viewers, especially after what has happened to her lately. Everyone on the inside thinks she could end up going a very long way.”

Helen Skelton has been confirmed as the new host of a Radio 5 Live Sunday morning slot (C5)
