BBC star Sally Nugent shows off glam transformation after marriage split

BBC Breakfast star Sally Nugent has spoken out following her marriage breakdown. Sally took to Instagram to connect with fans just days after the divorce was reported, but fans couldn't get over her stunning transformation.

Fans took to the comments section to compliment her on her new look. The newsreader cut a glam figure in a series of snaps posted to the social media platform, reports Birmingham Live.

Sally, who is best known for presenting Breakfast on BBC One each Monday to Wednesday alongside co-star Jon Kay - has split from husband Gavin Hawthorn. The split was reported last weekend, with Sally supported by viewers as she returned to the iconic red sofa on Monday.

"It's very sad but they are no longer together," an insider close to the couple said last week. "I think they tried to tough it out for quite a while as they didn't want to split up if they could possibly help it for the sake of their son but they clearly couldn't make a go of it.

"They've both been very guarded about the reasons behind their growing apart but it's been plain for a while that they had been and now it's obvious that they haven't been able to resolve that despite clearly trying for some time." Hawthorn pursued a successful career in marketing, working for multinational hotel chains before joining pet superstore business Pets At Home.

Sally, meanwhile, has seen her career go from strength to strength in recent years. The star presents Breakfast alongside an array of other stars - including Jon, Naga Munchetty, pregnant Nina Warhurst, Charlie Stayt and Ben Thompson.

She became a regular presenter for BBC Breakfast following the departure of Louise Minchin in 2021.
