BBC's Two Doors Down to return for season 7, hints Elaine C Smith

Good news for Two Doors Down fans as a star of the show has hinted about a seventh season of the hit Scottish sitcom.

Actress Elaine C Smith suggested that the popular show, shown on BBC Scotland, could return for another serie after the previous episodes proved popular with viewers.

Taking to Instagram, the 64-year-old comedian, who was born in Baillieston, re-shared a post to her story which contained the words: "Two Doors Down will return" in bold letters, reports the Daily Record,

The original post by Melanie Hill was posted on January 17 as she praised the cast for another brilliant episode.

However, it was only recently that the Glasgow comic, who plays no-nonsense neighbour Christine, shared the post, hinting at another season.

The final episode of series six aired last year, with a Christmas special giving fans an extra show. And it wasn't long before the reviews rolled in with many calling the episode hilarious and the series as a whole a 'masterclass in writing'.

A source told the Record: “Nothing is set in stone but there have been discussions about a Series 7 of Two Doors Down."

Many fans of the programme shared the post, with one saying: “OMG!!! It looks like Two Doors Down is returning for series 7.”

Another added: “Oooh is this Elaine hinting we could be getting another series of TDD?”

“Hope this is true and Two Doors Down is returning. Surely it must be and she wouldn’t just post something random like this?” commented a third.

Meanwhile a fourth added: “Hope it is returning..... absolutely love Two Doors Down and Elaine C Smith.”

The Daily Record have approached the BBC for a comment.
