BBC's The Traitors cliff-hanger leaves viewers 'up a height' as all hell breaks loose

The Traitors fans were left screaming at their TV sets as the clock edged towards 10pm on Tuesday night, when the highly addictive new BBC show ended on an epic cliff-hanger.

Since making its debut amongst all BBC One's World Cup coverage, The Traitors has quickly become the Tv programme that everyone is talking about. By far and away the most refreshing new TV format for a few years, the 12 part series sees Strictly presenter Claudia Winkleman show a much more sinister side as she is the puppet master to all the tension and back stabbing going on in a Scottish castle.

As a group of contestants work together to be in a chance of winning a potential cash prize of over £100,000, three of their number meet in secret to 'murder' one of their teammates every single night, while all the time trying desperately to avoid the finger of suspicion being pointed at them. As well as 'murdering hour' every night, the contestants also get to accuse each other of being a Traitor in fraught round the table discussions.

It was during one of those that things kicked off big style at the end of episode four on Tuesday night. *SPOILER ALERT* for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but the three Traitors - Amanda, Wilf and Alyssa - put three of their rivals up on 'trial' - Alex, Ivan and John - leading to join storming off in an emotional outburst.

In the roundtable discussion it was Alex, who earlier in the episode was exposed for being in a relationship with Tom, a fellow Faithful and Ivan who saw their names come up again and again. And, when all of the contestants had a chance to '#banish' the person they thought was a Traitor, Alex and Ivan ended up on exactly the same amount of votes, with just Traitor Amanda left to give her decision.

However, with the clock ticking down to the 10 o'clock news on BBC One, credits rolled just as Amanda was about to reveal all, leaving viewers fuming and frustrated in equal measure.

One tweeted: "The Traitors pulling that cliffhanger at the end of the episode… I’m sorry but I’m not here for this. I’m not watching ITV. I need a satisfying conclusion to each episode like on Survivor," with a second reacting: "How very dare you leave us on an elimination cliffhanger. It looks like they still haven’t caught a traitor"
