A BBC announcer warned viewers to 'buckle up for dark turns' as dark Australian thriller returned for a second series on Saturday night, just as many were left confused by the fact it wasn't made clear it had been on before.
It's been two years since millions of viewers became immediately hooked on the kidnap drama, with many rushing to binge watch the whole thing in one go after watching the first episode. Starring Downton Abbey actress Laura Carmichael as chief protagonist, The Secrets She Keeps saw Laura's character Agatha became obsessed with blogger and influencer Megan and, haunted by her own past, which saw her forced to give up a child for adoption and have a still born baby, Agatha snatched Megan's baby son Ben at birth.
With Megan and husband Jack totally distraught, Agatha went on the run, with it transpiring she'd been linked to the abduction of other children. Ben was eventually put safely in the arms of his parents, with Agatha put behind bars for the kidnap.
