BBC's The Fast and the Farmer-ish is seeking tractor drivers for new series

Young farmers from across Northern Ireland have been encouraged to apply to appear on the second series of a popular BBC reality show.

The first series of ‘The Fast and the Farmerish’ recently aired on BBC Three, with three Co Fermanagh lads proving popular during the series and eventually winning the grand final.

Now casting has begun for the second series of the show, with the producers looking for tractor drivers and young farmers aged between 18-30 to take part.

A representative of the show told Belfast Live the criteria was ‘18-30 and mad about tractors’.

A description for the new series says they are looking for teams of three.

“Hosted by Tom Pemberton, tractor drivers and their machines are pushed to the limit in spectacular challenges designed to test skill, nerve, creativity and teamwork,” it says.

“In teams of three, young farmers and their tractors go head-to-head in a series of regional heats hoping to win through and represent their nation in the semi-finals.

“But only the very best will make it into the grand final and the thrill of being within a gear change of becoming The Fast and The Farmer-ish Champions.

“If you’re mad about your tractor, from the UK, and think you have what it takes to beat the competition, then apply now.”

The producers, Alleycats TV, say they are particularly looking out for women from Northern Ireland to take part.

Applicants are asked to register their interest through tractors@alleycats.tv , with the deadline for registering May 27.
