BBC's The Apprentice names finalists for 2022 following first all-female semi-final

The BBC's hit business show The Apprentice has revealed its finalists for 2022.

In the latest episode, which aired on Thursday (March 17), the final four battled it out to convince Lord Sugar their business plan was worth an £250,000 investment.

In the much-anticipated interview round - the first ever all-female semi-final - Brittany Carter, Harpreet Kaur, Kathryn Burn and Stephanie Affleck were grilled by business experts.

Lord Sugar's associate Claude Littner made a brief return to the show for the semi-final episode, after pulling out of the 2022 series due to a bike accident. He was joined by publishing pioneer Mike Soutar; interior design agency boss Linda Plant; and media agency chief client officer Claudine Collins.

Ms Carter, from Bristol, was hoping to impress the experts with her high-protein alcoholic drink, while Kent-based Ms Affleck wanted to expand her childrenswear company.

But it was Ms Kaur, the owner of two dessert restaurants from West Yorkshire, and Swindon's Ms Burn, with her online pyjama firm, who triumphed in the boardroom.

Ms Burn posted on Instagram ahead of the show that she was "proud" to be making history in the semi final. She wrote: "It feels weird to think we are competing against each other, because I couldn’t be more proud and lucky that I get to do it with you all.

"I miss our days off where we’d all climb in to bed, eat our bagels with a coffee and discuss what we were doing on our day off… @harpsi_kaur usually cooking and looking after us all, @brittcarterr doing a workout that I wouldn’t take part in or giving us a Gregory Isaacs performance (or dunking me in the pool ffs) and @stephanieaffleck_ getting the playlist sorted for the day, cooking a delicious roast or future holiday planning for us girls… not actually sure what I used to do?!

"Love you forever girls, you really are all so amazing and I’m so so lucky to have you as close friends. Here’s to a lifetime of girls nights, business chats, holidays, sleepovers, belly laughs and being part of ‘fabulous 4'."

Ms Kaur, meanwhile, said she was "lost for words" after making it to the final of the programme.

"It’s been an indescribable experience and one that I wouldn’t change for the world. I’ve learnt so much about myself and really have grown throughout my time on the show but now it’s time for the big one."

The final of The Apprentice will air on BBC One on Thursday, March 24.
