BBC Radio 1 designated a slot on their morning show for Leeds United's new chant about summer signing Brenden Aaronson. The Whites midfielder has become an early fan favourite for his impressive performances since signing at Elland Road this summer.
The affinity with the Whites' fanbase has seen supporters come up with a new chant to the tune of Estelle and Kanye West's 'American Boy.' A clip of supporters singing the chant at Brentford this weekend has gone viral online, and presenter Greg James was a fan of the chant.
He told Radio 1 : "Yesterday, I was talking about the Leeds' fans who were celebrating their summer signing, US midfielder Brenden Aaronson who joined them from RB Salzburg and they haven't done it by halves. They've basically re-done Estelle and Kanye West's 'American Boy.'

"Then we realised it worked really well with the actual song. Then we talked about the actual lyrics; 'Come to Elland Road and you can see him play. Came from Red Bull Salzburg and he's here to stay. I really want to live in Beeston with you. You'll be my American boy, American boy, etc."
The Radio One DJ then played the chant over the original song and was keen to know how football fans start the chants in the first place. "We need the king or the queen chanter to come and let us know how you start things up," he said.
"How do you get everyone to know them? How do you rehearse them? What's the plan?"
