Journalist Emma Barnett has quit BBC Two news and politics show Newsnight after three years.
She said it was a difficult decision and was linked to her role in presenting Woman's Hour on BBC Radio 4 and other projects she is working on.
In a tweet, she told her 185,000 followers: "After 3 very enjoyable years presenting Newsnight, I have made the decision to leave the programme.
"This is in part due to my role fronting Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, which I’m thrilled to say is reaching more listeners than ever and I have many more plans for."
She added: "It is also because there are other projects in the pipeline to which I wish to dedicate more attention.
"The biggest thanks go to my editors, the endlessly energetic team, my guests, and of course, our viewers. It’s been an absolute blast."
Her announcement drew a warm reaction from viewers of the late-night current affairs programme.
The Guardian's parliamentary sketch writer John Crace wrote: "You’ve been terrific. Good luck with what comes next."
Viewer Phil Stanier tweeted: "Will really miss you on Newsnight - when I saw you introducing the show I would always think ‘Oh good. It’s an @Emmabarnett episode! Bound to to extra-interesting’. All the best for the other projects - sounds exciting. And keep up the great work at @BBCWomansHour."
Niall Brannigan wrote: "Sad to see you go, Emma. You and @maitlis [Emily Maitlis] have been the best informed inquisitors - aware of the facts enough to call out falsehoods, mid-sentence, and able to steer questioning to get your audience the best answers. Good luck."
