BBC One documentary focuses on unsolved murder of Adam Ellison

A new BBC One documentary will focus on the unsolved murder of Adam Ellison.

Adam died in the early hours of Saturday, November 4, 2017 after being stabbed in Market Place, Prescot, following an altercation with two men who were onboard a scrambler bike. During the altercation, the 29-year-old was stabbed in the neck with an unknown weapon, causing him to fall to the ground.

Friends and a number of passers-by went to his aid and called 999 as the offenders rode off in the direction of a Tesco supermarket, but Adam was pronounced dead in hospital shortly after 2am. His killers have never been caught.

A new documentary on BBC One called 'Our Adam' will focus on the former St Helens College student's case, as his family continue to raise awareness in the hope they can finally get justice. Sharing the news about the programme, Adam's family said in a statement they shared their story for Adam "to hopefully get the justice he deserves".

In a statement shared to their charity Facebook page ADAM, the family said: "As you all know since the day we lost Adam over four years ago we have been achieving in his memory and building a legacy for him but most of all fighting for his justice. "Not many people know what truly happened to Adam the night he had his life cruelly taken from him but it's time to reveal what’s been happening over the past few month.

"BBC reached out to Adam’s family/foundation and wanted to make a documentary to share the true story of how Adam lost his life that awful night on the November 4, 2017 and the reality of the pain his family and those who witnessed this attack on him deal with everyday. "Our Adam will be aired nationally on Monday 28th March on BBC One at 8.30pm.

"This will be aired far and wide for everyone to see, this has been especially hard for the family mentally but they did this for ‘their boy Adam’ and to hopefully get the justice he deserves. "Please tune in and get behind Adam in sharing this news as much as we can. "Adam deserves Justice."

Despite appeals on Crimewatch, detailed CCTV images being released and large rewards of up to £24,000 being posted for information, there has been no justice for Adam. Anyone with information can send a message to Merseyside Police on Twitter via @MerPolCC, or call 101, or leave information anonymously with the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org

*Our Adam will be shown on BBC One on Monday, March 28 at 8.30pm.
