BBC News slammed over 'awful' broadcast blunder just as Queen's coffin left Balmoral

BBC viewers were far from impressed after technical difficulties disrupted their broadcast of the Queen's final journey from Balmoral.

The 96-year-old's oak coffin was draped with the yellow Royal Standard of Scotland, with a wreath of flowers on top as it left her Highlands home, making the six-hour trip to Edinburgh.

But as people tuned in on Sunday, the emotional scene was wrecked at the worst possible moment when the screen suddenly became blurry on BBC News, reports the Mirror.

It left those who were tuned in unable to see the coverage for a few moments. Many took to social media to share their frustration with the BBC's coverage, which has until now earned high praise for how they have dealt with the death of the beloved monarch.

Upset viewers made their feelings known after the frustrating blunder. One wrote: "BBC you have one job to do and at the most critical time your tech goes down. Shocking truly shocking."

Another penned: "Useless coverage of The Queen leaving Balmoral! Why is the picture cutting out at the most crucial time?"

A third said: "BBC have given us ENDLESS coverage, yet true to form just when the Queen leaves Balmoral for the last time, the picture on the BBC outside broadcast breaks up."

A fourth viewer added: "BBC News sad that at the moment Queen leaves Balmoral, the picture blanks/breaks up, BBC must do better and pre-test their cameras."
