BBC News host makes mortifying error live on-air while thinking mic was turned off

A news presenter on BBC was left reeling with embarrassment after she made a blunder live on-air thinking her mic was turned off.

Samantha Simmonds was back presenting the channel’s evening news bulletin on Thursday night (July 6).

However when switching over to the weather presenter Samantha made the blunder thinking her mic was off, The Daily Star reports.

Speaking to BBC viewers, Samantha said: “And now with a look at the weather here's Chris Fawkes.”

However, just when Chris started to give the forecast for the weather, Samantha accidentally made a mortifying blunder.

Sher could be heard emitting some strange noises including a long and loud sigh.

It was so loud that people were unable to hear the weatherman.

She then screamed out 'yes' and some other inaudible words.

Chris carried on blissfully unaware, as the audio had not reached him.

It comes as the BBC's other show, BBC Breakfast left its fans fuming after a major blunder happened during Friday's instalment (July 7)
