BBC Music Introducing Live to hold rave at The Lofts in Newcastle

BBC Music Introducing LIVE has announced it is coming to Newcastle to showcase the North East's thriving electronic music scene.

The BBC festival, which is dedicated to discovering new music, will return in November and take place at different locations across the UK for the very first time.

The Newcastle leg of the three-day event will be held on Friday, November 4, with BBC Radio 1 DJ Jaguar set to headline a House and Techno Rave at The Lofts in Newcastle. Up-and-coming local DJs including Jonny Burn, Jesse Santos, Eurasia, LWY, Ellie Scougall, Oli Morgan & EU4RIQH, will also entertain music fans in the city.

The event aims to celebrate and showcase homegrown talent and help audiences get to know more about the region’s booming underground musical landscape. Big-name artists, including the North East's Sam Fender, as well as Ed Sheeran and Florence + the Machine, have all received BBC Music Introducing support at the start of their careers.

Kelly Betts, BBC Introducing editor, said music fans across the UK can expect to enjoy live gigs, practical workshops, talks, and Q&As as part of the festival.

“BBC Music Introducing LIVE is one of the fastest growing and most exciting events in the calendar for any young artist or creative and I am so proud to be taking it right across the UK this year," she said.

"There are some incredible DJs coming out of Newcastle right now and our goal with BBC Music Introducing Live is to provide emerging musical talent across the nation the opportunity to build profile and awareness as they take their next step in their careers."

Tickets to the Newcastle event are available here.
