BBC Mayflies: plot, how many episodes, full cast list, start date and time

BBC's new drama Mayflies starring Line of Duty's Martin Compston starts this week.

Mayflies is the story of a group of friends who grow up together in Ayrshire, about their love of music and politics in 1986, and what happens to them thirty years later.

In the summer of 1986, in a small Scottish town, Jimmy (Martin Compston) and Tully Dawson (Tony Curran) ignite a friendship based on music, films and the rebel spirit. With school over, they spend a magical weekend in Manchester, the epicentre of everything that inspires them in working-class Britain.
