The Garden Rescue team have pulled it out of the bag once again as the BBC show headed to Port Talbot for its Tuesday, June 27 episode. Host Charlie Dimmock and co were called to the aid of Welsh couple John and Helen, who wanted to create a Cornish-inspired garden with a £5,000 budget.
Helen was born in Cornwall and moved to Wales with her parents when she was a little girl. “I love the coast and I miss Cornwall desperately,” she said as she explained her plans for her garden.
As to specific things they wanted done, John and Helen described how they were keen to encourage more birds to come to the garden. They also said that they wanted to have a space to grow fruit and vegetables.

After work had been completed on the garden, it had been transformed into a colourful, coastal haven. Charlie and her team incorporated a central sandstone patio with dry stone wall and a relaxing water feature, Cornish-inspired planting, a range of produce-filled plots and several of John and Helen’s beloved ornaments.
Upon seeing the garden Helen said: “Oh my goodness! Look at that.” John then echoed: I’m not normally speechless but this is absolutely fantastic." Later he added: "This is exactly what we envisaged our Cornish garden would look like.”
Earlier this week Garden Rescue came under fire from viewers who claimed that one garden they'd worked on had "embarrassing" results. Speaking about Charlie's work on a garden in Mickleover, one person said on social media at the time: "£3,000 for that. 2 huge exhausts sticking out a water feature and the new turf looked awful, gaps where it all joined poor workmanship."
