The Government has announced the Beeb's funding will be frozen for two years, to April 2024, then rise in line with inflation for four years.

Gary Lineker was still the BBC’s top earner in 2020/21, paid about 4p a second. But his salary has dropped from about £1.75mi to around £1.36m.

These figures include payments made to individuals working under a contract. They exclude payments from the BBC's commercial entities (for example BBC Studios), and payments made by independent producers, royalties, repeat fees, and expenses.
