BBC Freeze the Fear viewers question Holly Willoughby over tears in final

They've spent weeks trying to become at one with the cold with the help of the incredibly cool Wim Hof but the eight BBC Freeze the Fear celebrities had one final challenge on their hands.

The six-part series began on BBC One last month with Holly Willoughby and Lee Mack as hosts and saw the famous faces whisked off to Italian Alps to be taught how to love and embrace the cold by Dutch extreme athlete Wim.

The stars - including ex-EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite, rapper Professor Green, former Manchester United footballer Patrice Evra, Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell, and TV presenter Gabby Logan - lived in tepees in their very own mini-village as they pushed their mind and bodies to the limit in freezing cold temperatures.

But during Tuesday night's (May 17) final episode, viewers watched as only Tazmin, Chelcee Grimes, and Professor Green, whose real name is Stephen, were left to attempt swimming under the ace from one hole to another. Things, however, went worryingly wrong for former EastEnders star Tazmin.

She ended up being taken off by medics following her attempt at the dangerous challenge after banging her head on the ice as she tried to resurface. "She hit her head, she hit her head," Holly could be heard saying before she asked, concerned: "Are you okay?"

As Tamzin, who is the cousin of Holly's husband Dan Baldwin, came up for air and told the crew: "I banged my head I'm getting out." Clearly worried, Holly asked: "Is your head alright?" Holly asked as her co-host Lee Mack added: "Oh gosh I saw that, that was a nasty whack."

Holly then tried comforting a shivering Tamzin before questioning her on whether she needed to see the medic. "She has got a bump on her head," Holly told the crew before Tamzin said: "I might need to sit down." Holly told her: "We are going to get you checked out, just to make sure everything's okay," as Lee added: "Yeah, that's a nasty bump that."

Mum-of-three Holly became really emotional and cried as Tamzin was taken away to be checked over. Turning away from the camera, the 41-year-old tried to pull herself together with Lee asking if she was alright. Wiping away tears, Holly said to her co-host: "I feel bad because they've got to still do it"

As Chelcee and Stephen waited for their turn, a still tearful Holly told them: "You've just gotta be so careful. Guys just be really careful because you saw what happened there, don’t overshoot it."

But viewers watching at home were a bit baffled by Holly's tears. @Crazier tweeted: "#FreezeTheFear Why’s Holly snivelling for!" @Zawenab added: "Why's Holly crying?!?!?"

@CharlzMoz commented: "She's banged her head, Holly. Worse things have happened." @JurassicOne wrote: "Feck sake, Holly needs to get out a bit more, snivelling and wobbling at every tiny thing…grow a pair woman !#FreezeTheFear #HollyWilloughby."

@AndyLingwood fumed: "First time watching this..but WTF is wrong with Holly Willoughby. Get a grip please, your not even doing what they are doing. Unbelievably pathetic #FreezeTheFear."

Later in the programme viewers watched as the celebs faced their final daunting challenge which required them to jump off a 500-foot bridge. Seven of the famous faces, including Tamzin who had previously decided not to take part, made the plunge while an emotional Stephen decided not to in a powerful moment linked to his own past trauma and current life as a dad.
