BBC EastEnders teases 'big news' with The Queen Vic snap as fans make their predictions

BBC flagship soap EastEnders has been teasing fans with what is to come - from a 10-month cliffhanger, you can read more here, to potential changes for the landmark pub The Queen Vic.

Posting a photo of The Queen Vic pub, with a welcome banner hanging over the front door, the soap has hinted there may be a new landlord or landlady. The soap captioned the post on Tuesday, March 28: "What's going on here then!? Keep an eye out for BIG news later today".

Many fans have tried to guess in the comments what the teaser means. One said "New family" followed by the eyes emoji. A fellow fan agreed with this theory, they said: "Excited for the new family!" and another added: "New family moving into the queen vic pub".

Another predicted the return of an old character, saying: "Someone is coming back.." One person predicted Jane Beale, saying: "Jane Beale returns". You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.

A third feels like there will be some new faces in Albert Square, saying: "New owners ?!?!?!?!?" and was joined by another fan saying: "New landlords". One fan guessed that the Royal family could be visiting the set again, saying: "Not another visit from royalty....?!?!"

This is not the first time in 2023 that EastEnders has teased what is come as in February it aired a scene set at Christmas time, in a flash-forward preview. During the future scene, which seems to take place at Sharon’s wedding, six women were stood around a dead, unidentified male.

The camera panned across the room to first reveal a worried Linda with a shocked look on her face. Then, it moved to Suki and Kathy, who looked at the body, whilst Stacey had blood on her hands. Sharon's wedding dress was also bloodied and Denise held a broken wine bottle. Nothing gives away who the man might be, only that he was wearing a suit and jewelled cufflinks.

EastEnders is on BBC1 on Tuesday, March 28 at 7.30pm.
