Eastenders fans have said their Christmas is ruined after watching Sunday night's festive special.
The hour-long episode saw actor Danny Dyer leave the soap in tragic scenes as his character Mick Carter appeared to be killed off.
Mick was seen entering the English Channel in a bid to save the love of his life Linda following a brief reunion. Mick reunited with his ex after new wife Janine Butcher’s web of lies unravelled during a family Christmas Day dinner
After discovering that his new bride had engineered the break-up of his former marriage by framing Linda as the cause of a car crash, Mick refused to let her get away.

A dramatic car chase followed as Mick and Linda followed Janine, played by Charlie Brooks, to Dover. After a scuffle on the clifftop, Linda and Janine were then seen plummeting in a car into the water below
Mick was then seen jumping into the water - and after finding the car - followed Linda’s instructions to help Janine first as she is pregnant with his baby.
However after noticing that Linda had not come out of the water Mick then jumped back in - unaware that she had crawled onto the shore. Mick did not reappear from the water as the episode ended.
