A trailer to tease the release of the BBC’s Frozen Planet II has been released ahead of tonight’s (SAT) Earth Prom at the Royal Albert Hall.
It is set to dramatic music by pop star Camila Cabello, who has teamed up with composer Hans Zimmer to create the track Take Me Back Home to support the natural history series.
In the heartfelt song, she sings the poignant lyric, “I can’t just watch it all fall down.”
The series explores how many creatures manage to survive in extreme sub-zero temperatures across the globe – and also how they are being impacted by climate change.
Sir David Attenborough, who voices the six part series which starts next month, says in the trailer that it explores “earth’s frozen habitats, where life finds a way not just to survive, but to thrive”.
The series – four years in the making – includes scenes of camels making tracks across snow deserts, seals being knocked off icebergs by waves created by killer whales and penguins launching themselves into the ocean for the first time.
It also shows polar bears struggling for survival as their habitat warms up and baby seals facing a bleak start shortly after birth.
Sir David warns: “Our frozen habitats are disappearing at a faster rates than ever before.”
