Adele Roberts has decided to leave Radio 1 after eight years.
The DJ, from Southport, has already presented her last show which was broadcast in May, the BBC said. The station made the announcement today on social media.
A spokesperson said the 44-year-old will continue to be part of the "BBC family". They said: "After an incredible 8 years at Radio 1 Adele Roberts has decided to leave. She has been at the heart of some of Radio 1’s biggest projects but you'll continue to hear her voice across the radio as she continues to be part of the BBC family. Thanks for everything @AdeleRoberts."

Adele was diagnosed with bowel cancer in October 2021 and in June last year said she was free from the disease. The 44-year-old now has a stoma which she nicknamed Audrey.
This year Adele became the fastest woman to run the London Marathon with a stoma bag, finishing the race in 3:30:22, achieving a Guinness World Record. The news comes almost a year after Scott Mills and Chris Stark left the station.
A number of other new changes to the Radio 1 schedule have been announced. From September, Sam MacGregor and Danni Diston will join forces to co-host the new Weekend Breakfast show, which will move from London to Cardiff.
Jess Iszatt who will become the new host of BBC Introducing on Radio 1 on Sundays and Gemma Bradley will be stepping down to focus on some "exciting new opportunities", the BBC said.
