Crossfire is the brand new drama from BBC. It sees Bodyguard and The Durrells star Keeley Hawes take on the lead role of Jo Cross, who is away with her husband, children and friends when shots ring out across the holiday complex they are staying in.
Set in a luxurious resort in the Canary Islands, Crossfire has been described as a story of "survival and resilience" as gunmen turn a slice of paradise into a terrifying and heartbreaking hell. Speaking about the thriller, Keeley said: "Crossfire is a show about a family who go away with other friendship groups on holiday.
"My character Jo organises a trip for them. They are at a party at Jo's house on New Year's Eve and she slightly has an ulterior motive about wanting them all to go away on holiday together... They haven't been on holiday for very long when the hotel that they are staying in is attacked." You can read more about the plot here.

Viewers will recognise Keeley, 46, from her incredible roles in many popular programmes. In 2021 she took on the role of Valerie Tozer in Russell T. Davies's It's A Sin, which was the same year she was cast as Alice Dillon in ITV's comedy-drama, Finding Alice.
Keeley has also starred as real-life detective DCI Caroline Goode in the police drama Honour, also from ITV. And more recently played child psychologist Dr Susannah Zellaby in Sky Max's adaptation of John Wyndham's 1950s sci-fi novel, The Midwich Cuckoos.
One of Keeley's much-loved roles is that of Louisa Durrell in The Durrells, the gentle, funny series aired between 2016 and 2019. Line of Duty writer Jed Mercurio's Bodyguard, which aired in 2018, saw Keely nominated for a Bafta, the actress played Home Secretary Julia Montague alongside Richard Madden, who played her protection officer.
Keeley is also known for playing Gemma Webster in The Missing, Lindsay Denton in Line of Duty between 2014 and 2016, and Alex Drake in Ashes to Ashes. Keeley's first major roles were in Tipping the Velvet, where she played Kitty Butler, and Zoe Reynolds in the spy drama Spooks, which is where she met her now-husband Matthew Macfadyen.
Matthew is best known for his role in the HBO drama Succession and movie adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, which saw him play Mr Darcy. You can read more about Matthew here.
The couple met while starring in Spooks together and went on to tie the knot in November 2004, they share two children. Keeley also has a son, whom she shares with her ex-husband Spencer McCallum.
Matthew and Keeley are set to star opposite one another once again in the upcoming ITV drama Stonehouse. The London-born actress recently revealed what it was like working with her husband, Matthew, for the drama series. She said: "I'm much bossier than Matthew. But on the first day on set, he said something like, 'I think you missed a line', and it was like, oh, that's how it’s going to be!"
