BBC Craig Charles' surprising admission after Who Wants to be a Millionaire appearance

Craig Charles shared a surprising admission on today's episode of Lorraine.

Thursday's edition was hosted by Christine Lampard as the Scottish presenter enjoys a well deserved summer break from her self-titled chat show. She was joined on the show by the legendary DJ who discussed the return of Moneybags to Channel 4.

The popular game show airs each weekday and sees a batch of contestants compete for a life-changing cash prize with £1m up for grabs. Craig has welcomed a group of celebrities on this week's edition as stars such as Mr Motivator, Natasha Hamilton and Claire Richards aim to win big money for their chosen charities.

The BBC Radio 6 music presenter told Christine what makes the show special. He said: "They're all doing it for charity and they want to make it work and win some money. They all bonded really well and had so much fun.

"Because it goes out across the week you really get to know them and you get on their side. It's a feeling of community and its such a great show to do. I'm loving it."

Craig also revealed he much prefers asking the questions than competing in a quiz. He said: "I'm really bad at quizzes.

"We did Britain's brightest family. Turns out we're Britain's thickest family. My son and daughter were really good. I was the dead weight on that team."

The admission may come as a surprise to viewers who watched Craig's recent appearance on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. Craig was hailed as a "genius" by fans after he chose to contact The Chase's Shaun Wallace for his "Phone a Friend" lifeline.

Taking to Twitter, Jas said: "Ringing a Chaser is pretty bloody genius I must say". Craig addressed his appearance on the ITV show during his chat with Lorraine.

He said: "I got to 32,000 and lost it all. Left with £1,000 and I was devastated."
