BBC Countryfile viewers were left divided after the show featured a segment about an artistic light installation on Sunday night (October 30).
A living art installation called the Green Space Dark Skies event was displayed on the programme. Holding lights and creating intricate patterns and shapes viewable from aerial shots, people ran around the peak district while shining the lights as the sunset.
According to the project's website, thousands of people from all paths in life were invited to experience the UK's landscape at dusk between April and September 2022. The aim was to celebrate nature and to project 'everyone’s right to explore the countryside.'

Viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the segment. Some thought it was 'moving,' while others reckoned it was drawn-out and underwhelming.
@guernseybird said: "OMG what fantastic performance art on #countryfile tonight. Fantastic- moving- goosebumps!" while @SissyJupe58 added: "Best #Countryfile ever. That was beautiful. #GreenSpaceDarkSkies".
Twitter user @hayleyawilson penned: "Came here to see if anyone else if feeling a bit emosh at the beauty of #Countryfile tonight. Apparently not unanimous. But wow," as @WatchCside said: "Oh my goodness #Countryfile has just shown the most moving light show. I’ll be looking at it again on iPlayer. Thank you".
But not everyone was impressed. @NigelRollings said: "I had high hopes for the finished product, despite the tediously long lead-up. Distinctly underwhelming, though. Shame. #countryfile" as @GuyAnde01948458 commented: "Phuq me. What on earth is this light show farce on #Countryfile. Transporting all those people to the location then hammering the pathways".
"Am I the only person who was slightly underwhelmed by the light show. I was really looking forward to it, but thought it was very arty farty and could have been so much better," admitted @Andlox as @brackleian weighed in: "That's the worst Countryfile I've seen #countryfile".
