BBC Cheaters: Will there be a second series of the drama with 10-minute episodes?

BBC’s new comedy-drama series Cheaters, which has enthralled viewers and critics in its will-they-won’t-they relationships throughout each of the series’ 10 minute episodes, is aired its final two episodes on BBC One this week.

The 18-part series followed Josh and Fola (Josh McGuire and Susan Wokoma) after their one-night romantic affair suddenly spirals out of control after realising they live opposite the street from each other. The series, which is also available on iPlayer, has left the show open to another series due to the involvement of each of Josh and Fola's partners. The show also starred Jack Fox and Callie Cook.

Will there be a series two of Cheaters?

The BBC has not officially announced a series two of Cheaters, however, the cast may have hinted at a potential follow-up.

So what do the cast say?

McGuire, who you may have seen in Industry, Love, Nina and Siblings, plays lead character, Josh, he has stated in an interview: “There’s infinite exploring that I think Oli can do” (Oli being the show’s creator Oliver Lyttelton) and followed it up with, “I definitely think there’s space to move forward in the future”.

Chewing Gum, Wrapped and Enola Holmes' Wokomo, who stars as Fola, confirms the cast’s desire for a second season. When asked whether there will be another series she spoke of how “there's only one other show really, State of the Union [starring Rosamund Pike and Chris O'Dowd], that has very short episodes, so I understand it's a bit of a risk, but I hope so”.
