A new series of Celebrity MasterChef began on BBC One on Wednesday (August, 10) featuring celebrities such as Paul Chuckle and Love Island's Faye Winter. However, fans were not impressed with the new series within minutes of the show beginning and took to Twitter to air their thoughts.
Many fans were critical of the celebrities taking part, deeming them as not 'famous enough' to be celebrities. The celebrities competing include McFly band member Danny Jones and comedian Kay Kurd, you can read the full lineup here.
Taking to Twitter viewers said they were not impressed with the celebrity line-up, as BirminghamLive reports. One person said: "Oh it’s #MasterChef and the ‘Celebrity’ version. Who are they? #CelebrityMasterChef"
Another added: "Since when does being on one reality show make you a celeb? They really are stretching the definition of celebrity". A third said: "Celebrity Masterchef!!! Not impressed with this lot so far but we'll see!"
And one added: "Are they running out of celebrities #MasterChefCelebrity." In the show TV personality Nancy Dell'Olio, who was formerly married to football manager Sven Goran-Eriksson, was the first to leave the show after she failed to impress the judge's John Torode and Gregg Wallace.
Nancy's mistakes included cooking and frying her coleslaw. She also told John that she always had "champagne, water and wine" in her fridge for emergencies.
Celebrity MasterChef will be back on our screens on Thursday, August 11 where one more celebrity will be dropped from the competition. They will have to make a classic dessert of floating islands in crème anglaise in 20 minutes, impress guest chef Chantelle Nicholson and cook a dish where vegetables are the "hero".
The 2022 series of MasterChef saw Welsh chef Ioan Jones make the final, however, Eddie Scott grabbed the crown and won the series.
