BBC cameras forced to cut away from X-rated message in Wrexham crowd during FA Cup game vs Sheffield United

BBC cameras cut away from an X-rated message held up on a cardboard FA Cup trophy during the FA Cup clash between Wrexham and Sheffield United on Sunday.

Non-League side Wrexham were dealt last-minute heartache when Championship side Blades scored at the death to make it 3-3.

The north Wales outfit now face a replay for a place in the fifth round of the competition.

During the match, just before the half-hour mark, the broadcaster panned to a crowd shot to be met with an X-rated statement being held up on the tinfoil cardboard trophy saying "F*** the Tories", with supporters in the area sporting a few grins on their faces.

The cameras quickly cut away from the area. You can watch what happened below.

Warning: Bad language

It's not the first time a political message has been directed at the Tories from someone associated with Wrexham, with star striker Paul Mullin ordering boots emblazoned with the same phrase last year.

It resulted in the club releasing a statement banning the forward from wearing the togs in a game.

“The club can confirm that the boots revealed by Paul Mullin on social media will not be worn tonight, or in any other Wrexham AFC fixture and that the photographs taken at the Racecourse Ground were done so without our knowledge or approval," part of the statement read.

“For the record, the pictures wouldn’t have been permitted to be taken, had we known, and the issue will be dealt with privately by the club."
