BBC Breakfast star Carol Kirkwood has been flooded with messages after sharing her first pictures with her fiance after announcing her surprise engagement last year. It's been nearly a year since the weather presenter announced her secret partner had popped the question.
During the live episode in May, Carol was congratulated on the news by her BBC Breakfast colleagues Sally Nugent and Jon Kay as she reported from the Chelsea Flower Show. Introducing the weather presenter, Sally said at the time: "I'm a little bit concerned about you this morning. I don't know how you're managing to stand up with that giant rock on your left hand, Carol!"
Glancing at her hand, Carol said: "Oh, that one? Thank you Sal! It is rather nice, I got engaged." Sally replied: "Congratulations from all of us! It's the happiest news, we are so, so delighted. Congratulations."

The Scottish TV star, who was a contestant in the 2015 series of BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing and was partnered with Pasha Kovalev, has never publicly named her long-term partner, who was described previously in reports as her "secret boyfriend".
But after the identity of her adoring beau, Steve, was revealed, Carol has shared a string of new loved-up photos beside her husband-to-be as they enjoyed a snowy break. Taking to Twitter the 60-year-could be seen beaming from ear-to-ear as she posed with Steve against a beautiful, snowy, Norwegian backdrop as they enjoyed a romantic getaway together.
In the photos, Carol and Steve looked thrilled to be enjoying the cooler climes as they posed for a number of smiling selfies in their snow gear. The star also shared some images of the breathtaking scenery the country has to offer and even revealed they caught a glimpse of the Northern Lights - which caused a frenzy in the UK just a few days ago.
Captioning the snaps, Carol typed: "What a difference a week makes! This time last week Steve and I were in the snow in beautiful Norway." And fans were quick to comment on the Twitter post.

Previously speaking about her engagement to Hello! Magazine, Carol said: "It was a lovely, sunny day and we had taken a picnic with us, and we were sitting by the river, watching the boats going by. I turned to say, 'What's wrong?' He was on his knee, and he proposed. At first, I thought he was joking, but he said, 'No no, I really do mean it, Will you marry me?' I said: 'Yes!! Of course!'"
