BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty supported by fans as she returns to show amid painful diagnosis

Naga Munchetty has been flooded with support by BBC Breakfast fans as the 48-year-old returned to her hosting duties on the morning show today (June 2) after some time away. Many viewers were pleased to see her back in the studio after going public with her painful health battle with adenomyosis.

According to the NHS, adenomyosis is a condition where the lining of the womb is found deep in the muscle of the uterus, often causing uncomfortable symptoms - including heavy, painful or irregular periods.

It is not known exactly why adenomyosis happens, but it is likely that women with the condition have a predisposition due to their genes, immune system and hormones. Adenomyosis is not contagious and is benign (not cancerous).

The BBC star looked radiant as she retuned in a gorgeous figure-hugging orange dress, with short sleeves and a low cut neck line. She presented the programme alongside fellow host Charlie Stayt after having being absent for several days.

Many fans took to social media to express their joy. JonnyMichaels19 tweeted: "Naga Munchetty looking good." Susan05713606 added: "Great to see you back on the BBC breakfast sofa Naga."

Jon67413966 said: "Great to see Charlie and Naga back on the settee." SiineadC85 asked: "@TVNaga01 hello, would you mind sharing where your orange dress is from please? Love it!"

Lawro22 typed: "So pleased to see you back on the red sofa with a smile @BBCBreakfast this morning. Hope you are feeling well." It comes after the breakfast presenter opened up about her agonising health battle.

Taking to her Instagram account earlier this week, shared a gym selfie along with the words: "Did a short run anyway to get going. Feeling better for it and I'll be in your [ears] later @bbc5live 11am-1pm talking more about #adenomyosis and how to raise awareness and ensure better care and diagnosis for those who suffer with it."

She decided to go public with her condition after her husband was left needing to ring up an ambulance as she experienced a severe flare-up. Of the heart-breaking ordeal, she said: "The pain was so terrible I couldn't move, turn over, sit up. I screamed non-stop for 45 minutes."
