BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty gave a stark admission to followers last night as a storm swept the South East.
The broadcaster, 47, probed her 278k followers alongside an emoji of an umbrella, thunderbolt and raincloud, posting: "Anyone else slightly scared in this stormy weather?"
In response, her colleague Matt Taylor - a meteorologist - replied: "I know someone who may have spent the last half hour at the window watching it all..."
Another person echoed Naga's fears as they penned: "No. I’m indoors so all is good. Stay safe!"
While another quipped: "My roof garden is no longer on my roof!"
Not everyone agreed, with one fan jokingly responding: "Living in the Inner Hebrides, I don't really worry until I see sheep flying past the window!"
A Met Office yellow weather warning for thunder for much of southern and eastern England was in force until 5am today.
It stated that there was a "small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds".
Meanwhile the former star was told to "toughen up" when she first expressed an interest in broadcast journalism.
"I remember when I first decided I wanted to explore being on air, I was told, 'You are quite sensitive,'" she added. "'You do take criticism quite hard and you dwell on things. You need to toughen up.' And I did."
And viewers of BBC Breakfast who have seen her in action will admit she appears fearless on screen and even grills her co-stars with gusto.
In a recent show she questioned Weatherman Matt Taylor over whether a sunset photo shown to viewers, was in fact a sunset not a sunrise.
The segment ended with co-presenter Charlie Stayt commenting: ""Poor man just wants to get off and do his job."
