BBC Breakfast's Carol Kirkwood mortified after name blunder during report

BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood appeared red-faced after calling her co-star the wrong name on BBC Breakfast. Carol was sharing a weather report during Monday's show, April 10, alongside Roger Johnson and Nina Warhurst.

But the star mistakenly referred to Roger by the incorrect name, a mistake picked up on by Nina, The Express reports. When discussing the latest weather report, Carol said: "It's going to be a windy day, particularly with the Met Office warning in parts of the west and the south.

"And we'll see some snow in the highest hills in Scotland... above about 400 metres or so. Now the rain moves northwards, there'll be some showers coming in behind it, frequent showers at that, but these black circles represent the strength of the wind gusts.

"So if you're planning anything outdoors on Wednesday, do bear that in mind. And the temperatures... seven to about 12 degrees north to south. Beyond that, the weather does remain unsettled, rain and showers a times with a wee bit of sunshine."

"But as we head into the weekend, it looks like it's going to turn a little bit milder, Nina and Jon," Carol continued as she turned to her co-stars. Nina quickly corrected Carol, as she replied: "A little bit more sunshine towards the weekend, thank you so much, Carol, this is Roger."

Carol looked mortified as she put her hand to her face after realising she had called Roger, Jon Kay instead. Roger chipped in: "Don't worry I have been called far worse, so I'll take it as a compliment."

"Oh, Roger, my apologies," Carol added. "You're just as gorgeous." "Thank you very much, Carol, "Roger said as he continued with the rest of the show.
