A BBC presenter had to halt a live programme to check on the safety of a guest. Naga Munchetty had to stop the BBC Breakfast programme on Thursday, June 8, to check on the safety of a guest at a farm.
Naga was joined by co-host Charlie Stayt for the episode as they updated viewers about the latest headlines, one of which was about how more than 490 million pints of milk are wasted each year. This comes after Marks & Spencer became the latest retailer to join Morrisons in ditching the 'use by' dates on their own brand milk.
The companies now use best before dates to encourage buyers to smell and taste the product before throwing it away. To get an experts opinion, the duo welcomed dairy farmer Ceri Cryer onto the show where she shared her tips and tricks for making milk last longer when kept in the fridge2, reports The Daily Record.

However, Naga soon had to put a stop to the live interview to check on Ceri's safety, who was reporting from her farm surrounded by dairy cows. She asked: “Ceri are you safe around those cows?
"I can see you being nudged around by them. I’m just checking on your safety.”
The farmer explained: “We just gave them a little bit of cake to come visit us, then one just pooped right next to me so, I'm clean.” To which Naga replied "joyful" and shared a laugh at her misfortune on air.
