BBC Breakfast host hits back as viewer left 'repulsed' by her appearance

A troll has been publicly shamed after criticising the appearance of pregnant BBC Breakfast host Nina Warhurst.

Nina took to Twitter to share the horrible message that claimed the presenter's hair was so bad it was putting her off her breakfast. She also shared a picture of her with co-presenter John Kay showing how great her hair actually did look, as reported in Wales Online.

Nina, who hosts business segments as well as sitting in for Sally Nugent, hid the name but revealed the message's author was female. The message, which had been sent from an iPad, read: "Please do something with your hair. You look a mess! We have to look at your while we are eating our breakfasts, for heaven's sake!"

She wrote: "Women who do this to women," followed by a sad face emoji. "Too repulsed by my hair to eat her breakfast, but managing to bang out this vitriol. Apart from anything else I can’t bear inaccuracies - I think we can all agree my hair looked [heart formed from two hands emoji]."

The presenter, who recently announced she is expecting her third child, was backed by many of her fans, including Rylan Clark who wrote simply: "U look lovely x."

Welsh weather presenter Ruth Dodsworth, who says she gets similar messages, said: "Oh Nina. I’ve got to say… your hair is absolutely spot on perfect!!! I aspire to this! I get… 'lovely' messages like this daily… in my case they aren’t too far off the mark. But what on earth compels the few to be so utterly vile?! It’s totally befuddling! Xx"

She added: "It’s just so much harder to be nasty than nice."

Another supporter said: "Your hair looks lush!! Ignore the haters. Whoever wrote that probably had cereal down the PJs she’d been wearing for 5 days straight."
