BBC Breakfast fans beg Naga Munchetty to quit 'filthy' habit after glimpse of off-screen time

BBC Breakfast fans are used to seeing Naga Munchetty in front of the cameras for the morning news programme but after they were given a glimpse of the presenter's off-screen life, some have begged her to quit a 'filthy' habit.

Sharing a post-run selfie to her 278,000 Twitter followers, Naga looked fresh-faced as she explained: "Didn't want to. Did it. It's done. #run. Happy Friday." While many fans praised the 48-year-old for forcing herself to 'pound the pavement' and looking amazing having completed her run, others, according to the Mirror, hit out at her for what they called a “filthy” habit.

Praise was heaped on the presenter for her fresh look, with one person saying: "You have no right to be that attractive after a run. Stop it," and someone else adding: "How do you look so good when you have been on a run?". However, others were disappointed in another of her habits.

It would appear that in a previous social media post, shared earlier in the month, she was seen lighting up a cigarette. One follower wrote underneath the latest post: "Please give up the cigarettes."

Another Twitter user added: "Disappointing to find out you are a smoker." And another person added: "I'd never have thought you were a smoker." Someone else asked: "I'm curious (not judging you) how many cigarettes do you smoke a day?".

And the questions continued. Joining in the conversation, someone else added: “Stop smoking, it shows on your skin. You are far too beautiful to keep that filthy habit up. X”

It comes after Naga and her co-host Charlie Stayt let their hair down after an early shift at BBC Breakfast by indulging in a cheeky weekend pint earlier this month. According to Daily Record, the colleagues enjoyed a well-deserved screen break together in Manchester and looked worlds away from their newsroom personas.

Both in big coats - Naga wrapped up in a black North Face jacket with knee-high boots while Charlie went for trendy khaki - they were seen drinking beer during the sunny but chilly afternoon in the city as they lit up cigarettes while they looked relaxed chatting.
