BBC Breakfast causes 'chaos' as angry viewers spot everyday item is missing from show

BBC Breakfast hosts addressed the 'chaos' they caused - as viewers noticed a big change to the morning show today.

Presenters Jon Kay and Nina Warhurst were fronting the show this morning, reporting on the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II yesterday as well as other news segments like the cost of living crisis, when viewers noticed a big change to the show. Frustrated fans of BBC Breakfast took to Twitter to vent over the missing clock on the show, which always appears at the bottom of the screen.

Confused, viewers ranted on social media about the missing time stamp and urged for it to be added quickly, as the clock wasn't on people's screens when the programme kicked off at 6am this Tuesday morning.

"What happened to the clock? #BBCBreakfast," one fan question, whilst another added: "Where’s the little clock??? #BBCBreakfast."

A third wrote on Twitter: "Whats happened to your clock this morning? Not showing @BBCBreakfast #noclock," whilst the sentiment was echoed by another viewer, who shared: "#BBCBreakfast where has the clock gone?"

Soon, Jon and Nina noted the absence and addressed it live on air as they assured fans it would be back soon.

"Our clock is broken. It's disappeared! Our on screen clock has disappeared," Jon explained about the mishap, adding: "It's causing chaos for lots of you this morning. You've been in touch saying you don't know what to do. You don't know what the time is!

"So if you haven't got a clock in the house, or a phone, the time is 6:26." Nina then chimed in and joked: "Well done Jon," as the pair vowed to get the clock back on screen as quick as possible. "I'll just keep this here all morning. I'll keep reminding you, the talking clock," Jon said as Nina added, "Yeah apologies for that, we are trying to get the clock back."

Later on the pair excitedly shared that the clock was back - but viewers had to wait a few more minutes before it appeared on their screens, as Jon said: "Good morning! We've got the clock," before adding: "Oh no we haven't got the clock back."

When it did appear a few moments later, they quipped: "Oh there she is! Okay calm down, we're back to normal."
