BBC Breakfast anchor Nina Warhurst has shared a blast from her past looking virtually unrecognisable as a teen actor on Casualty.
Before settling in to the Beeb as a broadcaster she once played a "spiky teen" on the medical soap back in 1997.
Nina, 42, took to Twitter on Tuesday (October 18) to celebrate the BBC's 100th birthday with a series of throwback snaps from her Casualty stint.
The youthful future BBC star found her features altered with make up to portray a character who landed herself in hospital with a bandage and several cuts across her cheek.
And she couldn't resist poking fun at her first TV appearance joking that she was rather like her mischievous character as she too used to like "keeping boys a secret".
Alongside the archive snaps, Nina wrote: "Happy Birthday BBC [balloon emoji] Howling at finding my first appearance with Auntie.
Casualty…a spiky teen in polyester, keeping boys a secret, causing parents endless headaches (v method for me in 1997 luvvies)."
She concluded: "Here's to the next chapter... Proud to be part of it."
Nina later poked fun at her younger self in a follow-up tweet that read:"…. And if you didn’t overpluck your eyebrows creating a vast chasm between the two, were you even there in the 90s?"
And her BBC colleagues were quick to comment on her trip down memory lane as BBC Breakfast pal Naga Munchetty was thrilled by her colleague's acting career and replied: "Love this! Who knew?"
Her co-host Jon Kay demanded footage as he chimed in: "This is true TV gold. Where is the actual tape???? We need to see it…."
Nina quipped back: "Coulda been useful" alongside a photo of an overturned car from the episode, presumably a hint at how her character sustained her injuries.
After Casualty, Nina went on to appear in British drama Heartbeat in 1998 and two-part ITV miniseries Butterfly Collectors in 1999.
But she later turned her talents elsewhere as she trained in journalism with her first job at Russia Today, before moving on to the Guardian's Channel M, regional BBC channels and later BBC Breakfast.
And although the BBC hospital drama was just a dabble in the acting world the long-running show has proved to be the launch pad for many big names.
Kate guest starred in a 1993 episode of Casualty in the role of Suzanne, a girl who had an abusive boyfriend.
And Hollywood star Orlando Bloom also made his professional acting debut in the show, making an uncredited appearance in 1994 and later returning as a builder called Noel Harrison in 1996.
Other Casualty cameo actors who have gone on to prove big names in the business include future Eastenders star Danny Dyer, Jerome Flynn and future Soldier Soldier co-star and singing partner Robson Green.
