BBC bosses want to 'lure' Holly Willoughby with Strictly Come Dancing offer

BBC bosses are planning to lure Holly Willoughby to Strictly Come Dancing after the Phillip Schofield and This Morning scandal.

The 42-year-old has been spotted enjoying herself at Glastonbury this weekend with her husband, and recently returned to This Morning after Phillip, 61, confessed to an 'unwise but not illegal' affair. The presenter has been met with a mixed reaction following the backlash, as BBC bosses are attempting to lure her to the broadcaster.

It's unclear what role Holly would have if she joined Strictly, but BBC insiders claimed bosses are looking to make space for her on the ballroom dancing show. Holly previously hosted ITV's Dancing On Ice alongside Phillip, but the broadcaster hasn't announced his replacement or if Holly will return to the competition.

An insider told The Mail on Sunday: "Holly is the golden goose. BBC bosses want her and they have been plotting for some time to get her for their big shows. They know how popular she is, but it also has to be the right programme. Recently there has been talk around the BBC that Strictly would be a way to lure her over.

"There are ideas of how she could slot in – nobody is quite sure about that yet but they think she would be perfect."

They added: "It seems like a big project to get her to do it, and would mean moving things around on the show somehow, but there are some executives at the BBC who want it to happen."

Meanwhile, Holly has been spotted having the time of her life at Glastonbury as she danced with fellow celebs at a wild 12-hour-long party following a stressful few weeks.

But she seemed to let her hair down by watching Arctic Monkeys perform to an adoring crowd at Worthy Farm on Friday night, followed by a dance party with fellow A-listers.

An onlooker told The Sun on Sunday: “Holly was laughing and joking with her friends from the moment she touched down. They had access to the VIP Winnebago camping area but Holly seemed keen to get among the crowds.”

The ITV star is believed to have travelled to the festival in Somerset from London via helicopter and was joined by husband Dan Baldwin.
