The BBC has axed an afternoon quiz show after just two series.
The Tournament, which is fronted by Alex Scott, has been dropped to make way for new programmes. The show saw eight players compete in tug-of-war quiz matches and attempt to knock their opponents out of the game and steal their cash.
At the end of the show, one player would take on the 'Golden Run' and try to double their money. The first series was broadcast on November 8, 2021, and the second series premiered on September 20, 2022.

Alex had presented both series of the BBC One show. In a statement to BirminghamLive, BBC said: "The Tournament had two great series but we need to make room for new opportunities.
"We'd like to thank Alex and the team for all their hard work.”
Earlier this month, The Tuckers was axed by the BBC after just three series. The sitcom, which followed a family in the Welsh valleys, debuted on BBC One in 2020.
The show starred Lynn Hunter, Robert Pugh, Kimberley Nixon and Alexandria Riley. The BBC said: "We'd like to thank the series' creator, writer and actor Steve Speirs for bringing the Tuckers to life as well as the incredible all-Welsh cast who brought the close-knit family of loveable rogues to our screens.
"After three series we bid the characters farewell and look forward to announcing some brand-new comedy series soon."
