Tributes have been paid to Antiques Roadshow expert Judith Miller who has died at the age of 71. The star's publishing firm, Octopus, confirmed the news in a statement on Thursday, April 13.
The author and expert died over the Easter weekend following a short illness, The Mirror reports. Alison Starling, from Octopus, said: "I’ve been lucky enough to work with Judith on and off for the past 30 years and the news of her death is a huge shock.
"She had such energy and spirit – and always combined her impressively broad-ranging, in-depth knowledge of antiques with a life-long passion to make the world of collecting accessible and unintimidating to all.
"Judith will be much missed by all those readers and viewers who looked to her for expert and reassuringly friendly advice." Judith was a co-founder of the Miller's Antique Price Guide, which she put together with first husband Martin Miller in 1979.
She had been in the process of updating the guide when she died. The Antiques Roadshow expert leaves behind her husband John Wainwright, three children and four grandchildren.
Judith joined the BBC programme in 2007 and is a successful lecturer and author, having written more than 100 books on the subject of antiques.
