TV host Baz Ashmawy has broken his silence on his links to the RTE Late Late Show job through a number of Instagram comments made to fans under his latest post.
The Irish radio personality is the bookies second-favourite to replace Ryan Tubridy on Friday nights, after Patrick Kielty stepped into first position following news that Claire Byrne and Sarah McInerney were no longer in the race.
Emmy-Award winning presenter Baz has previously kept tight-lipped about taking over the reins, however he responded to a number of Instagram comments that expressed their desire to see him in the top job.

The 48-year-old posted to Instagram, sharing his experience presenting the Executive Women's Gathering at the Convention Centre in Dublin.
"Inspiring stories of resilience and motivation for anyone. If you get in front of these women. Listen! Ladies one and all. As for the audience. Pleasure," he wrote.
Fans of the Libyan-born father-of-two rowed in with support for his skills as a presenter, wishing him all the best in the race for the Late Late hot seat.
One person said: "Please be the next late late show host... .bring something exciting to RTE.."
Another said he was "perfect for the Late Late" to which the 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy presenter replied: "I'll leave that to the professionals but thanks."
Baz also responded with a single love heart to one person who wrote in the comment section "Definitely Baz for the Late Late" while another person, picking up on the image in the post, said: "Now imagine this, but a banner reading “The Late Late” over your left shoulder…… "
To this, Baz said "lol" after which the commenter said "that's not a no" to which Baz replied again saying: "It's definitely not a yes."
One more keen supporter, to which no reply was made, expressed: "Cant think of a better host for #latelateshow , a presenter that can be genuine and funny and so sympathetic and sincere for more serious situations too, you’ve my vote."
Patrick Kielty is now the long odds-on favourite, ahead of Baz Ashmawy and Brendan O'Connor with Paddy Power even suspending betting on the market altogether given the support for Kielty.
