Match report: Southampton 1-2 Fulham
Premier League: A stoppage-time winner from Ryan Sessegnon revitalised Fulham’s European qualification prospects and denied Southampton the chance to move past the record-low Premier League points total set by Derby.
Championship round-up: Cardiff City have been relegated on a dramatic day at the bottom of the Championship, with Plymouth left on the brink and Hull City pulled into the bottom three.
National League: Barnet move on to 99 points and win the National League thanks to their 4-0 win over Aldershot. They’ll be back in League Two next season, so congratulations to them.
Championship playoffs: Sheffield United, Sunderland, Bristol City and Coventry City are in the playoff places but going into the final day of the season, Millwall, Blackburn and Middlesbrough can still nick either of the last two spots. Boro face Coventry next weekend, in what is a massive game for both sides.
Championship relegation: Cardiff City are relegated and Plymouth’s inferior goal difference means they are effectively relegated. Hull City occupy the third relegation place and are apoint behind Luton, Preston and Derby County. In 18th place, Stoke could still go down.

Championship: Cardiff City have been relegated from the Championship, dropping into the third tier for the first time since 2002-03. Cardiff, relegated from the Premier League in 2018-19, had to beat West Bromwich Albion to keep alive their hopes of survival after Luton’s late victory over Coventry but Cardiff, under caretaker manager Aaron Ramsey, could not find a goal and played out a 0-0.
Calum Chambers saw a first-half header disallowed and in the second half West Brom goalkeeper Josh Griffiths pulled a trio of saves in quick succession. Plymouth’s victory at Preston also means Cardiff, who visit Norwich on the final day with their fate sealed, sink to the bottom of the pile.

Championship: Plymouth Argyle double their lead at Deepdale, with Callum Wright riffing on Preston North End’s pain. While Plymouth look fairly doomed despite spirited recent performances, Paul Heckingbottom’s side also look likely to go into the final day of the season with their Championship status hanging in the balance.

League Two: Karl Robinson’s Salford City are 3-0 up against Colchester United and look set fair to overtake them in the race for the playoffs. Salford started the day two points outside the playoff places, while Colchester were two short.
Newcastle 0-0 Ipswich Town: Newcastle have just had a goal disallowed after Ipswich goalkeeper Alex Palmer dropped a high ball that went in off the back of Bruno Guimaraes’ back. National League South: It’s the final day of the season and six different teams can win the title. Truro City remain in the box-seat, however, as they went into their game against St Albans leading the table on goal difference and are already 3-0 up. It’s looking good for the Tinners from Cornwall!
An email: “As you say, many things still up for grabs at both ends of the table and some slippery fingers attempting to do so,” writes Jeremy Boyce. “For the play-offs, Blades would have preferred Friday’s 2-0 win a couple of weeks ago, instead of their wobble. They, like Leeds last year, will have to live with the disappointment of a really good campaign and points total not having been good enough for automatic promotion.
“The Black Cats couldn’t hit a barn door with a beach ball at the moment and will hope to get that out of their system before the playoffs start. Similar story for ‘Boro, should they grasp one of the remaining spots. They, Coventry, Baggies and Millwall will all be hoping Leeds will be concentrating all the way and take the issue all the way to the wire (like the title) by seeing off Bristol City at what will be a rockin’ Elland Road on Monday evening.
“At the other end, I’m sure most neutrals will be rooting for Luton, after their heroic 1-season adventure in the top flight, but if it comes down to goal difference they could be in trouble. The bottom six looked well adrift at one point, but they’ve all been picking up points over the last few weeks. So out-of-form Preston will be looking nervously over their shoulder. League Two: Notts County have beaten Harrogate Town 3-1 to secure their place in the playoffs. Elsewhere in the fourth tier, Hakeeb Adelakun has boosted Salford’s hopes of joining them by scoring a penalty against Cochester after two minutes.

Wycombe’s defeat means that Wrexham will be promoted later today if they beat in-form Charlton Athletic at the Racecourse Ground. That game kicks off at 5.30pm (BST).

League Two: Rovers’ 2-1 win over Bradford and Port Vale’s 2-0 victory against AFC Wimbledon mean that both sides will be playing in League One next season. Bradford stay in the third automatic promotion spot, while AFC Wimbledon are in a playoff place but could still be ousted by Colchester United, Salford City or Chesterfield.

Scottish Premiership: To nobody’s great surprise, Brendan Rodgers has masterminded another title win for Celtic, whose 5-0 thrashing of Dundee United at Tannadice means they win the league for the 55th time in their history.

Championship: On as a substitute, Shandon Baptiste has scored what could be a massive goal for Luton against Coventry. It was a scrappy effort that took a big deflection off a defender who couldn’t sort his feet out but Hatters fans won’t care. A win will take them out of the relegation zone for a couple of hours at least.

League Two: Doncaster Rovers are 2-0 up against Bradford City, with Billy Sharp doubling their lead after Tyrick Wright missed a penalty for the Bantams. A win will send Donny up to League One and leave Bradford in the third automatic promotion place. In London, Port Vale are beating AFC Wimbledon 2-0 and will also go unless Bradford can turn things around very quickly and win against Doncaster Rovers.
Championship: It remains scoreless in the early kick-off between Luton Town and Coventry City at Kenilworth Road, where both sides are down to 10 men. Coventry’s Josh Dasilva was sent off after 13 minutes, while Luton lost Liam Nash to a red card for foul and abusive language after 68 minutes.
League One: There are two early kick-offs to report on in League One, where Leyton Orient are beating Wycombe Wanderers courtesy of Randell Williams’ strike in the 66th minute. In the West Country, Bristol Rovers are losing 1-0 at home to Reading.
Should Wycombe lose to Leyton Orient, Wrexham will secure automatic promotion later today with a win over Charlton Athletic. As things stand, Leyton Orient occupy the final playoff spot, while Readingare in seventh place. Defeat for Bristol Rovers will leave them in the relegation zone, level on points with Burton Albion on the other side of the thick black line, having played two games more.

Championship: Burnley are thrashing QPR at Loftus Road, where Jeremy Sarmiento has just scored their fourth goal without reply. A win will send Burnley three points clear of Leeds at the top of the table having played one game more. Leeds host Bristol City on Monday night and have a significantly superior goal difference (+10) over Burnley going into their final two games of the season. If Daniel Farke’s side win both they’ll almost certainly be crowned champions.
Scottish Premiership: Celtic are firmly on course to win their 55th title, fourth in a row and 13th from the last 14. They currently lead Dundee United 5-0 at Tannadice with over 30 minutes left to play. Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah have scored two goals each since Dundee United’s Ryan Strain opened the scoring with an own goal.

It’s another big day in the Premier League and beyond, with the race for the Champions League spots continuing apace in the top flight and plenty of ups and downs and playoff places to be confirmed as the three divisions of the Football League embark on their penultimate round of fixtures.
In the Natoinal League South, the English football pyramid’s sixth tier, Truro City from Cornwall lead the pack (on goal difference) going into the final day of a season in which no fewer than six of the 24 participating teams can still win the title. In Scotland, Celtic could wrap up the title this afternoon, while Bayern Munich will be crowned Bundesliga champions in a few hours time if they beat Mainz and current holders Bayer Leverkusen drop points against Augsburg.
