Bayern Munich vs Celtic away allocation ticket update for Champions League

Celtic will receive around 3,800 tickets for the Champions League match against Bayern Munich.

We revealed last week that Celtic would likely be handed around 3,750 tickets for the knockout play-off round tie at the Allianz Arena, going by UEFA rules.

Visiting sides are entitled to a five per cent portion of tickets from the overall capacity of the stadium.

As the Allianz Arena seats 75,000, that would see Celtic entitled to a 3,750 ticket cut for the away allocation in Munich.

Celtic supporter Liason Officer John Paul Taylor has stated, though, his belief that the club will be backed by circa 3,800 supporters in the Allianz Arena.

Visit supporters will enter the ground via Entrance sector 339-347, Gates 72+73 and Entrance category 1 - Gate 70. Important information for those heading to Germany has been published on the club website.

UEFA Champions League guidelines state: "The visiting association or club must be allocated 5% of the total stadium capacity as tickets for their supporters in a dedicated sector of the stadium.

"This sector of the stadium must be capable of being segregated from other sectors. The location of away supporters within this sector must be agreed in advance by police and public authorities."

Celtic will be permitted to sell away tickets after avoiding a fan ban from UEFA following a smoke bomb incident against Aston Villa.

The club received a fine from the governing body but supporters will be allowed to attend the match against Bayern Munich next week.

A statement from Parkhead chiefs read: "Celtic Football Club notes today’s decision by the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body to fine Celtic 10,000 Euros, following our match against Aston Villa, for the throwing of fireworks.

"We can confirm that Celtic supporters will be able to attend our forthcoming Champions League match in Munich."
