Bayern Munich set to launch Joao Palhinha bid as Fulham face fresh transfer threat

Bayern Munich are set to launch a transfer bid to sign Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha.

The 28-year-old midfielder is the primary target for former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel, who is eyeing up one more major signing for his German champions before transfer deadline day.

Palhinha has been exceptional upon his return from a shoulder injury, playing 90 minutes in back-to-back matches against Arsenal and Tottenham.

Fulham insist they will not sell their Portugal international unless they receive a mammoth bid, having turned down a £60million offer from West Ham in July.

Marco Silva wants to hold onto last season’s Player of the Year and spoke about the efforts made to keep him after his late equaliser away at Arsenal last weekend.

The Cottagers boss said: “He is one of the key players for us and he was last season. That’s one of the reasons I did everything to sign him and that’s one of the reasons the club did everything to keep him in the last few months.”
