Bayern Munich is reportedly open to negotiating the sale of Joshua Kimmich to FC Barcelona, as per sources. The potential deal comes with a condition that involves including one of Barcelona's players, such as Ronald Araujo or Frenkie de Jong, in the agreement.
Last summer, Kimmich was a key transfer target for Barcelona's head coach Xavi Hernandez, who viewed him as a suitable replacement for Sergio Busquets. However, due to Barcelona's financial constraints, they were unable to secure Kimmich or Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi, ultimately signing Oriol Romeu from Girona.
Fast forward to the present, Xavi has reportedly identified Kimmich and Zubimendi as players he wants to either retain or bring to the club. This demand has led to Bayern Munich considering a potential sale of Kimmich to Barcelona.
If the reports are accurate, Bayern would only agree to part ways with Kimmich if a player of interest to them, like Araujo or De Jong, is included in the deal. De Jong, who is set to become Barcelona's highest earner next season, has attracted interest from clubs like Manchester United in the past.
Despite a previous offer from Manchester United, De Jong opted to stay at Barcelona due to his desire to work under Xavi Hernandez. A move to Bayern Munich could see De Jong reunite with former Ajax teammate Matthijs de Ligt, offering him a new challenge in his career.
