Bayern Munich and Adidas launch 'red and white for life' home shirt for next season

Bayern Munich and Adidas have revealed their new home shirt for the 2023/2024 season.

Known world-wide for their famed red and white kits, the sportswear giant say the new look strip is "celebrating the club’s unique connection to red and white". Adidas also says the new shirt not only strengthens Munich's ties with its iconic colours but also the club's connection to the city itself.

Lisa Datz, Senior Product Manager at adidas Football said: “The combination of red and white represents the identity of FC Bayern Munich - and has done so for more than a century. These colors represent pride, unwavering confidence, and great triumphs. With this new kit we are highlighting the importance of these colors to the club and can't wait to see it on the pitch and on the fans as we embark on the next chapter of the red and white success story together."

The new shirt is steeped in the history of the legendary German club with the inside of the collar featuring the message “Rot & Weiß ein Leben lang” which translates to ‘red & white for life’. The design itself, a sleek and stylish white base flanked with bold red sleeves, is a nod to the very first home shirt won by the team in the club's first season in the German top flight.

The on-field version of the shirt has been designed using materials that will keep you cool. Known as adidas HEAT.RDY, the shirt is optimized to keep you comfortable. While the replica jersey features AEROREADY technology, which uses absorbent materials to keep the body feeling dry.

Speaking about the new shirt, FC Bayern München striker and club legend, Thomas Müller, said: “The colors red and white have been with me all my life. With this traditional design, the new home shirt stands for the success story of FC Bayern Munich.”

The new jersey will be worn on pitch for the first time against RB Leipzig on Saturday, May 20 and is now available to purchase. You can find out more about the new shirt and buy it here.
