Bayern bounce back from Celtic Champions League scare against Frimpong and co

Bayern Munich bounced back from their Champions League scare against Celtic a few weeks ago with a 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen in the competition's last 16 this evening.

The German sides met at the Allianz Arena for the first leg, with Bayern walking away convincing victors.

Harry Kane bagged a brace as Jamal Musiala also got in on the act. Nordi Mukiele was sent off for the visitors just after the hour mark.

Although Leverkusen won the Europa League last season and are only eight points behind Bayern in the Bundesliga, they were easily dismantled tonight.

Bayern are now full steam ahead towards the quarter-finals of the Champions League after they were given a scare by Celtic in the knockout-stage playoffs.

It took a late Alphonse Davies strike for the Bavarians to avoid extra time against Brendan Rodgers' men.

Bayern broke green and white hearts that evening, and they would have left former Celtic fan-favourite Jeremie Frimpong rather down tonight after his team were beaten 3-0.
